Movement Series
For this ongoing series, my focus was on emotional movement translated into the physical. These illustrations started as many figures scribbled in marker on computer paper at my kitchen table. I drew people squeezing themselves into oblivion, opening themselves up to reveal an entire galaxy inside, tingling with anger represented by congealing dots, with mind-trap bars coming out of their heads and encircling them, ripping open their chests to let out an explosive pain, bashing their heads against the wall. We've all felt that slowly building anger in our chests at least once, but would it look like illustrated? Although physically impossible, the drawings below represent mental states externalized, from the mind to the body.
